A biobank must be managed under two responsibilities:
With regard to donors, the biobank must protect their rights of privacy and the confidentiality of donations.
With regard to researchers, the biobank should provide data and biomaterials of the highest quality in order to ensure the reliability of research results and enhance the generation of medical knowledge.
In relation to this, the biobank has to ensure for each donation a trust chain from the donation to the samples and the information made available to researchers.
